About Us

Collective Funding Africa (Pty) LTD (CFA) is the 100% Black owned and managed company operating in a crowd funding space, a founding member of the South African Association of CrowdFunding (SACROF), the regulatory body in discussion with FSB to regulate the Crowd Funding industry in South Africa. CFA was born out of the realization that there is a need to democratize the participation of ordinary people in the mainstream of our economy.

South Africa is entering a new economic era as its Black population continues to move the ball forward to harness the forces of community development. The sheer number of talented African business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs are driven by a relentless enthusiasm to empower ordinary Africans to engage in the country’s economic development. However, it is disheartening that many potential visions of independent wealth creation are thwarted because many entrepreneurs are denied access to venture capital by the large financial institutes.

Black businesses in particular and SME in general fail to grow because they do not have access to capital. Most banking products have proven to be anti-black and anti SME businesses. It is difficult and very costly for Black businesses and SMEs to be funded through a conventional banking product.

CFA seeks to close that gap by introducing an alternative funding platform with alternative funding model and make it easy for an ordinary Sipho from eQunu, no Thoko from eThokoza and a black middle class in Sandton to participate meaningful in mainstream economy of our country.

The CrowdFunding Projects to be supported by CFA are within the SACROF Categorisation of Projects:

How does this work

CFA seeks to close that gap by introducing an alternative funding platform with alternative funding model and make it easy for an ordinary Sipho from eQunu, no Thoko from eThokoza and a black middle class in Sandton to participate meaningful in mainstream economy of our country.

Introducing Crowdfunding model becomes an alternative source of affordable funding option. This process exposes black companies and SME to a pool of funders, individual ordinary Africans or organized groups like stokvel who may now want to invest their savings instead of consuming their savings in December.

This process forces black business and SME to institutionalize their organizations, put proper and good corporate governance structures, and to grow their operations from a one person run business to an institution.

We are bringing well run black companies match them with individual ordinary people and groups of investors. We are changing the economic landscape of the black African child.
